Diagnose poor leads before increasing the budget
Low-quality inquiries can come from mismatched search intent, geographic targeting, unclear offers, weak qualification or measurement errors. Review the whole journey before blaming one setting.
Start with a lead-quality worksheet
| Field | What to record |
|---|---|
| Inquiry ID | A reference that links the inquiry to the sales record. |
| Service and location fit | Can the business actually fulfil the request? |
| Qualification outcome | Suitable, unsuitable, duplicate, spam or still unknown. |
| Reason | Specific reason such as outside area or wrong service. |
| Sales stage | Contacted, meeting, proposal, won or lost. |
Check the search-to-page match
Compare actual search terms with the service on the landing page. An informational question and a request for a provider can express different needs. Review exclusions carefully so you do not block relevant demand.
Read the offer like a customer
If an ad suggests a free service but the page sells a paid engagement, the campaign may generate predictable disappointment. Explain who the offer is for, what is included and any meaningful constraints before the form.
Check how conversions are counted
A contact click is not an accepted submission. A repeated thank-you-page visit should not generate a new lead. Check duplicates and errors before using conversion counts to adjust spend.
Change one identifiable cause
Group unsuitable leads by reason and choose a response: clarify geography, revise the offer, improve qualification or fix tracking. Record the date and compare equivalent periods while accounting for budget and traffic changes.
